St. Andrew's Cross

The X on our logo represents the saltire, or St. Andrew's Cross.  St. Andrew, an early disciple of Jesus, and brother of St. Peter, was said to have been bound and crucified on a cross with an X shape sometime around 60 AD in Greece, martyred for being a follower and proponent of Christianity.

Legend has it that his ashes found their way to the eastern coast of Scotland, in a town that today bears his name, St. Andrews.  As golf fanatics are surely aware, this town later became the home of golf, and the Old Course, it's seminal hallowed grounds.

Intertwined as they were, St. Andrews became the patron saint of golf and his cross, white cross on a blue background, the flag of Scotland--the final resting place of St. Andrew and the birth place of golf.
